First-half

Kick- off Chelsea

9 Quiet start No major action yet despite a frantic nature to the game. Mikel gave the ball away to Wendel who shot over, while Deco's pass was just too long for Joe Cole.

13 CHELSEA GOAL Frank Lampard heads the opener from close range after José Bosingwa guided a superb cross to the far post from out on the right, a simple finish for the midfielder.

17 Blocked Wendel sends a powerful free-kick straight at the Chelsea wall, which holds strong and deflects the ball away.

20 Positive Nicolas Anelka cuts inside and shoots low, as Ramé can only parry in the Bordeaux goal. Joe Cole comes close from the resultant corner, while John Terry headsa Lampard free-kick wide.

21 Close Fernando almost diverts a Cole cross into his own net from the edge of the area, but Ramé reacts well to change direction and cling on to the ball.

26 Wrong Deco intercepts a loose pass and releases Anelka, who rather than shooting from a tight angle opts to square the ball, and Bordeaux clear.

29 CHELSEA GOAL The unlikeliest of scorers from a Blues corner as Joe Cole leaps highest at the near post, flicking Lampard's cross into the far corner of the net. A great first half for Chelsea so far.

33 Miss Lampard misses the easiest chance he will get for some time, dragging a half-volley wide from close range after Florent Malouda nodded down Bosingwa's deep cross.

35 Warning Yoann Gourcuff curls a free-kick just over the bar from 25 yards after Ricardo Carvalho fouled Marouane Chamakh.

Half-time: Chelsea 2 Bordeaux 0

Second-half

Kick-off Bordeaux

51 Danger Fernando gets forward and shoots, but his effort is just wide and Cech is able to confidently leave it.

53 Superb One of the moves of the match as Bosingwa switches long to Malouda who exchanges passes with Ashley Cole before running on and crossing low across the face of the goal. Nobody connects for what would have been an excellent goal.

57 Yellow card Deco is booked as he pulls back Diarra who was breaking clear.

60 Chelsea substitution Pleasing sight for Chelsea fans as the popular Michael Ballack returns to action after a three-week layoff, replacing Deco in the middle.

61 Chance Anelka hits the side netting after being slipped through by Joe Cole. More quick passing from Chelsea proving too much for the Bordeaux defence.

65 Bordeaux substitution Fernando Cavenaghi and Gabriel Obertan replace Marouane Chamakh and Yoan Gouffran in straight swaps.

73 Substitutions Juliano Belletti replaces Joe Cole for Chelsea, while Pierre Ducasse is on for Bordeaux in place of Fernando.

77 Quiet Not much going on on the field, so the fans try and inspire a little action with a chant of 'come on Chelsea'.

81 CHELSEA GOAL Florent Malouda finishes off 30 seconds of chaos inside the Bordeaux box, firing low into the bottom corner after the French couldn't properly clear. Lampard the provider with a deft black flick.

83 Chelsea substitution Salomon Kalou comes on for goal scorer Malouda on the left.

86 Miss Unmarked at the far post, Carvalho sends a Lampard header against the crossbar and over. That would have been the icing on the cake.

89 Chance Sub Belletti pulls back for Anelka, who shaves the post and shoots just wide.

Stoppage time: 2 minutes

90+1 CHELSEA GOAL Anelka finally gets himself on the scoresheet, firing into an empty net after Ramé had tipped Belletti's 35-yard effort on to the crossbar.

Comment

An unchanged side from Saturday's triumph at Manchester City started, and never looked in trouble after Lampard's early header.

We remain unbeaten during 2008/9 under Luiz Felipe Scolari, with the side scoring the four to match those against Portsmouth on the opening day of the Premier League season back in August.

Chelsea are now 71 games unbeaten at Stamford Bridge in all competitions since February 2006.

Anelka's was his first Chelsea Champions League goal. He was a winner of the competition with Real Madrid in 2000.
